P2P File-Sharing

Evaluating its drawbacks, it is intolerable for that kind of activity to continue operating in the net. P2P supporters may not agree with me, but if P2P file-sharers continue to use this technology for pirating intellectual properties and servers continue to allow this kind of activities, it is better that P2P technology be banned. We know that P2P file-sharing is more of piracy than sharing, it is safe to say that providers or servers of this kind of networks should be shut down unless they do something about the swapping of copyrighted properties. I’m not totally against the concept of swapping files, but in order to protect and respect the rights of the artists, P2P servers should not allow this kind of activity to thrive in the net. They MUST limit it to protect the intellectual property rights.

The tempting benefits P2P networks offers should not be a reason for it to be legalized because first of all, it really violates the copyright law by not limiting the flow of data in the system and allowing illegal swapping of files online. It can be legalized if servers can control the traffic of copyrighted materials. P2P file-sharing can be beneficial in many ways, but with the emergence of illegal P2P systems that promotes copyright infringing, P2P systems has been labeled as a medium of illegal swapping of copyrighted files. If P2P system providers cannot meet the requirement to limit the traffic of data files in the system, then it should be totally shut down to prevent piracy and protect the copyright and intellectual property code.
